About B&A Air
5 questions
B&A Air is a commercial HVAC manufacturer entering the U.S. market with two specialized divisions. Our HVAC Division, headquartered in Houston, TX, designs and distributes light commercial rooftop units and will be expanding into additional HVAC product lines. We're built around a simple idea: give contractors commercial-grade equipment with premium internals, honest pricing, and support from people who understand the field.
New to the U.S. market, not new to HVAC engineering. We chose Danfoss compressors and Ziehl-Abegg EC fans specifically so contractors don't have to gamble on unknown internals. When you open up a B&A unit, you'll see the same world-class components trusted by the biggest names in the industry. We're building trust by over-engineering the product and backing it with responsive, Houston-based support.
The HVAC Division operates out of Houston, Texas. Our operations hub, warehouse, and primary shipping origin. Houston is our home market, and we built the business here because it's one of the most demanding HVAC environments in the country. If our units perform here, they'll perform anywhere.
B&A units are manufactured to our specifications with final quality control, testing, and distribution handled in the United States. Key components — Danfoss compressors, Ziehl-Abegg EC fans — are sourced from established global manufacturers with proven commercial track records. Every unit is inspected and validated before it ships from Houston.
Our units are designed and built to meet applicable UL & AHRI efficiency standards. We're continuously expanding our certification portfolio as we grow. Contact us directly through our contact page for the latest certification documentation specific to the model you're specifying.
B&A’s Two Divisions
3 questions
B&A Air operates two focused divisions under one parent brand. The AHU Division (based in San Jose, CA) handles air handling units, cooling coils, heat exchangers for data centers, and portable clean rooms — serving large-scale industrial and specialty projects. The HVAC Division (based in Houston, TX) focuses on commercial HVAC equipment for the light commercial market; starting with rooftop units, with split systems and condensing units on the roadmap. Same engineering DNA, completely different product lines and customer base.
No, each division has its own distinct product catalog. The AHU Division builds custom air handlers and industrial cooling systems. The HVAC Division builds packaged rooftop units and commercial HVAC equipment. There's no product overlap. If you need an AHU or data center cooling solution, we'll point you to our AHU Division. If you need an RTU for a commercial rooftop, explore our product lineup.
Reach out to us, we'll route you to the right team. As a rule of thumb: if you're a contractor installing packaged equipment on a commercial rooftop, this is your division. If you need custom-built air handling units, coils, or data center cooling, visit the AHU Division site at ba-airs.com.
Products & Specs

Three light commercial rooftop units at launch: 5, 7.5 Ton, and 10 Ton. All units come standard with Danfoss scroll compressors and Ziehl-Abegg EC fan motors. Additional tonnages (12.5, 15, and 20 ton) plus split systems and condensing units are on the product roadmap.
Ziehl-Abegg is a German manufacturer that's been building fans for over 100 years. Their EC (electronically commutated) motors deliver 30%+ energy savings over traditional PSC motors, run significantly quieter, generate less heat, and are rated for 70,000+ hour lifecycles. For building owners, that's lower utility bills. For contractors, that's fewer callbacks and a longer-lasting installation.
All B&A RTUs come with a standard manufacturer's warranty covering parts and compressor. Extended warranty options are available for contractor partners. We stand behind every unit that ships from Houston — contact us for full warranty terms and documentation specific to your model.
Yes, RTUs are the flagship, not the finish line. Our product roadmap includes split systems, condensing units, and expanded tonnage ranges (12.5, 15, and 20 ton RTUs). The HVAC Division is building a full commercial and residential equipment portfolio. Explore our current RTU products and check back as new lines launch.

Ordering & Logistics
4 questions
Yes — all 50 states. Units ship from our Houston warehouse via freight. Fastest transit times to Texas, the Gulf Coast, and the broader Southern U.S. We can coordinate delivery logistics including liftgate, jobsite delivery, and crane coordination for rooftop placement where needed.
For stocked models in our Houston warehouse, lead times are significantly shorter than industry average — often shipping within days, not weeks. Non-stocked configurations or large fleet orders may require additional lead time. Contact us with your project timeline and we'll give you a firm ship date.
Absolutely. We offer volume-based pricing for multi-unit orders — whether it's a strip mall needing three units or a portfolio manager replacing equipment across multiple properties. Contact our sales team with your unit count and timeline for a custom quote. Contractor partners get priority on fleet pricing.
Contractor partners can order directly through their B&A Air sales representative or via our contractor portal. New customers should start by completing the Contractor Partner Application — once approved, we'll set up your account with pricing and access to order. For one-off or urgent needs, reach out via our contact page and we'll get it handled.
Installation & Compatibility
5 questions
Yes. Our RTUs are designed to standard curb dimensions — in most cases a B&A unit drops directly onto an existing curb with no modification required. For non-standard or legacy curbs, curb adapter kits are available. We designed for both new construction and changeout/retrofit scenarios because that's how the real world works.
This is a core design priority — not an afterthought. Danfoss compressors rated for extreme ambient temperatures, Ziehl-Abegg EC fans built for high-duty cycling, and cabinet construction designed for 100°F+ rooftops, high humidity, and relentless demand. Houston is our home market. If our units survive here, they'll perform anywhere in the country.
5 Ton and 7.5 Ton models: 208/230V single-phase or three-phase depending on configuration. 10 Ton model: also available in 460V three-phase. All units come with clearly labeled terminal blocks and wiring diagrams designed for fast, clean connections. Check the specific model spec sheet for MCA, MOCP, and breaker sizing requirements.
Yes — our units are designed with retrofit and changeout in mind. Standard curb dimensions mean most replacements are a straightforward swap. We can provide dimensional drawings for pre-install verification. If you're replacing a unit from Lennox, Carrier, Trane, York, or similar, contact us with the existing model number and we'll confirm fitment and any adapter requirements.
Every unit ships with complete installation documentation including wiring diagrams, refrigerant charge specifications, and startup procedures. Contractor partners also get access to our direct technical support line — staffed by people who understand the equipment, not a generic call center. We're here to help you get it right the first time.
